Éocycle Technologies Develops Transverse Flux Generator for Wind Turbines

Éocycle Technologies was recently profiled in PLAN Magazine for designing an innovative direct drive transverse flux generator for variable speed wind turbines.

Daniel Massicotte, President and General Director of the company, commented on the technical challenges they faced in bringing this product to the market. However after years of development, the company succeeded in their mission to offer a gear-free alternative to the common asynchronous alternators which are plagued with mechanical failures.

Mr. Massicotte touts their new CME-5 : 5 kW low speed direct drive generator as light, compact, efficient, and requires minimal maintenance. For the same diameter of blades their transverse flux technology generates higher torque than existing systems.

As one of our many MagNet users, we wish to congratulate Éocycle Technologies and hope for their continued success.

In honor of their technical achievement, we have reposted the feature profile from PLAN magazine on our website. Please click here to download the PDF document. Note: This article is in French only.
